“Ride for Heart” is a fitness event, by virtue of incorporating a bicycle ride up and down the Don Valley Parkway. As the above image shows, the DVP is a lovely stretch of road, especially when there are no pesky automobiles in the way.
People with limited cycling ability can opt for the 25Km distance. Those with more endurance can bicycle for 50 or 75 kilometres.
The route includes rest stops; the organizers offer some refreshments, although you may want to bring your own water as well.
A Word to Car Drivers about the “Ride for Heart” Event and the Don Valley Parkway Closure
The Don Valley Parkway, and at least part of the Gardiner Expressway, will be closed to cars, trucks and motorcycles to allow cyclists to safely participate in the “Ride for Heart“.
